Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis International serves children and communities worldwide with nearly 600,000 adult and youth members in more than 80 nations and geographic areas.

The Louisiana-Mississippi District was organized in January, 1920. In November, 1938, the western part of Tennessee was added to create the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District. The nearly 4,500 members of the District, and their 120 clubs are committed to developing future generations of leaders through guidance and example. They are ordinary people, performing extraordinary work in their communities every day.

Message from the District Governor

As Governor of this great district, I welcome you to the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee web site and hope you find this site easy to use. There is a lot of information contained about the workings of this great district.

Serving as Governor of LAMSTN District for 2016-2017 is an honor. I look forward to visiting our great clubs and seeing the many wonderful projects being done to improve the lives of our kids, one child and community at a time.

Like any organization or business today, we as a district need to grow our membership numbers as well as our clubs. Our tool for doing this is called The I-Plan that we have asked every Kiwanis club to complete by December 31, 2016.

The I-Plan consists of 4 major areas:

  • Inspiration: Membership & Engagement
  • Impact: Meaningful Service
  • Image: Our Kiwanis Image
  • Investment: Financial Investment

Each Kiwanis Club will first evaluate where they are in these areas now, and develop a five-year plan to accomplish their goals in each category.

Through the I-Plan, Kiwanis International is laying out the plan, which ensures Kiwanis will continue serving the kids of our communities for the next 100 years.

If you are not a Kiwanian and reading this, then I invite you to find a Kiwanis club near you and become part of this great organization as we serve the needs of the kids of our community.

Thank you for taking time to read this, and hope to see you in a Kiwanis meeting in 2016-2017.
